Meeting and Events Coordinator
Position Overview:
The Meetings and Events Coordinator is the central team member at the Union County Chamber of Commerce (COC) for scheduling and providing support for Business Association meetings, helps to plan quality chamber events, and helps provide administrative/office support for day-to-day operations as needed. This position blends event planning and meeting planning to help support chamber members/members services and strengthen community engagement. This position approaches all duties utilizing the COC core values of Commitment, Collaboration, Innovation, Integrity, Leadership and Diversity.
Meeting Management:
- The position is the key staff contact and supports the following:
- Industrial Parkway Association
- Marysville Business Association
- Plain City Business Association
- Richwood Business Association
- Attend Executive and Regular monthly Association meetings
- Prepare agendas, minutes, sign-sheets, and handouts as needed
- Email meeting notices, agendas, minutes, etc
- Help manage other programs/events: banner sales, fundraising events, etc.
- Manages the Chamber Events, including registration, equipment set up, organization, meeting notes and marketing. Events include (not limited to):
- Annual Celebration
- Chamber Golf Outing
- Salute to Leaders
- MBA Golf Outing
- IPA Golf Outing
- Lunch and Learns
- Business After Hours
- Ribbon Cuttings and Groundbreaking Events
- Plan and execute fundraising events to meet revenue and engagement goals
- Manage event logistics, budgets, timelines, and vendors
- Secure sponsorship
- Oversee marketing, registration and guest communications
- Lead on-site event operations and volunteer coordination
- Track event performance
- The ability to display a professional appearance and attitude as the face and voice of the Chamber.
- The ability to multi-task and to work under pressure.
- The ability to be reliable and well organized.
- Maintain interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with staff, committees, divisions, associations, community organizations, and the public.
- The ability to oversee events and programs which benefit the Chamber.
- The ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, to prepare and present comprehensive reports to the Chamber and community organizations.
- The ability to keep confidentiality on various organizational issues.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, WordPress, Canva, Constant Contact, and social media programs.
- Full Time Permanent salary position.
- State of Ohio Driver’s License and ability to drive is a requirement.
- Must maintain regular and predicable attendance.
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field preferred.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, WordPress, Canva, Constant Contact, and with social media programs is encouraged.
- Experience working for economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, and/or convention and visitor bureaus is an added benefit.
